Game Concept

Shogun Exodus is a 2D side-view colony simulation and ruler RPG set in a grim, far-future world where humanity has regressed into a new Japanese-inspired Warring States era.

The player physically controls the Shogun while expanding a modular, multi-storey castle and managing autonomous Servants with individual needs, health, traits, skills, relationships, schedules, equipment, inventories, and work priorities.

Servants perform jobs across interconnected systems involving construction, food production, mining, crafting, storage, electricity, water, smoke, decay, and resource logistics, creating emergent personal and colony-wide stories.

Beyond the castle, the Shogun can personally lead or join expeditions, experience event-driven journeys, visit procedurally generated biomes and towns, enter modular buildings, trade, recruit new followers, confront threats, and persuade or conquer settlements as part of rebuilding a fallen Shogunate.

The game is designed as a long-form, highly moddable sandbox combining the pawn simulation and storytelling of RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress with Fallout Shelter-style side-view construction, Oxygen Not Included-like infrastructure management, and a broader layer of exploration, diplomacy, factions, and territorial progression.

The game is currently in Pre-Alpha / Early Alpha.
